HEC-RAS Training in Honolulu

After a 3-year break for COVID, we’re excited to continue our HEC-RAS training series with a live, face-to-face 2D modelling workshop in Honolulu. Join us on October 20, 2022 as we create a flood model from scratch together using the newly released HEC-RAS Version 6.3.

Requirements
Please bring a laptop pre-loaded with HEC-RAS Version 6.3.1. The free software can be download here. Please test the program before arriving, and contact us with any installation issues. We recommend having a mouse with a middle wheel button and a laptop with as large a screen as possible. You are welcome to bring an external monitor if your laptop screen is small.
No prior experience with HEC-RAS or other modelling software is required – we will be building models from scratch. The course content is designed to be challenging to those with prior experience who are just looking to master the new features but not overwhelming for those brand new to HEC-RAS.

We will be creating a basic 2D flood model together that will take advantage of new features in HEC-RAS 6.3. Attendees will also receive free 1D modelling workshop material to complete on your own if desired along with materials outlining case studies for diversion drains, rail and highway culverts, dam break, direct rainfall/rain on grid, and urban and coastal flooding. The course runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with individual support available until 5:00 pm.
